Welcome to Girls on the Run of Union County – a life-changing, non-profit prevention program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Our mission is “to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.”

Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K running event with healthy living education. Our programs instill self-esteem through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships and physical training – all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community.

Girls on the Run of Union County is an affiliate of Girls on the Run International (www.girlsontherun.org) which has a network of 160 locations across the United States and Canada. A listing of these locations can be found here.

Girls on the Run of Union County 5K presented by CMC-Union

Saturday, April 27th

We would like to THANK all  the participants for a WONDERFUL Girls on the Run of Union County Spring 2013 5K!

It was great to have a record breaking number of participants (1,300+) having fun and finishing the race strong with superintendent Dr. Ellis starting off the race.  We are especially proud of our GOTR girls for completing their goal of the run/walk 5K! Way to go!
We would also like to thank all our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and community participants for their support in making our 5K entertaining and fun!  Last but not least, a special thanks goes out to all the coaches and family members that supported their girls by running and cheering at the race. GOTR is not possible without the involvement of coaches and parents- THANK YOU!
Professional 5K PICTURES– Thank you Mallory Dawn Photography and Dana Nicole Photography for capturing the energy, joy and spirit at our Spring 2013 5K!
